How many of you that have installed the MCM hood have been able to simply paint the hood and NOT have to blend the fenders and front end in with color? I have seen a red and a Quicksilver that have not blended and looked good. I have pewter, and paint shops tell me it won't match and that it is about 1000. to paint the hood and blend in the paint, which I refuse to do to a flawless car. I'm wondering if it is worth taking a chance?
I have a MY 2000 Vert and have had two MCM hoods on it, one before the Supercharger and one after the S/C install, I have n had one blended and one not blended and I didn't see the difference in either one. If your painter wants $1000 for the paint job he is trying real hard to get in your pocket very deep, even blending should not be in that range.
I know mine will be blended front and both quarters with hood for more than $1k including the hood....painting will be done by Burke Corvettes in Orlando....I have faith it will be perfect
The only problem with the blending thing is that if you ever did want to go back to the stock hood you have a major problem. I would have less problems with the idea if I had some stone chips or something, but my paint is flawless. Hurts to paint over it. I suppose I could just get the hood, try painting just the hood and if it doesn't look right , sell it.

well considering I am going with a S/C and probably selling the stock hood this shouldn't be an issue for me
not to mention I am having the paint done at www.burkecorvettes.com considered to be the best around
No Blending here.... they painted my hood for 500 dollars and it is perfect... there was no prep other than a liight sanding, sealer, primer and paint,.,, took them 30 minutes to remove my old hood and install the new one..
