Best plug wires? MSD?
I have Taylor Thunderbolts which lasted 20K miles, but pulled a boot and the terminal, some carbon core, and a long thin wire stayed on the plug. Time to change plug wires.
What's the best plug wire for a supercharged motor (high cylinder pressure) with headers (high heat near wires)?
I did a search, and some recommend MSD. Is MSD still tops?
Edit: BTW - Best price I found is $59.95 from Scoggin Dickey

Also, is Koolsox 'required'? It's yet another $42.99 (

Thanks.

I have the MSD wires on mine with no problem. I like them and I have no Koolsox on mine and it works just fine. I got mine at Summit Racing Equipment.

I have some radio static with mine, but only when the engine is loaded at low RPM. Since it rarely happens, it doesn't bother me.

I recently installed MSD 8.5mm Superconductor wires when I changed my plugs to the Iridiums. No EMI/RFI and no noticeable affect on reception.

I've had a set of the Superconductors on my Avalanche for almost three years. I immediately noticed a smoother idle. There is no RFI interference.

Put mine one over a year ago and NO problems at all...
I used the old stock heat shields on the new wires as well. Not perfect but they fit "ok" and I felt the extra protection would be good...

I had the MSD's but went back to stock due to misfires from MSD's. Since thene, 10K boosted miles with no issues.

I also had misfire codes using the MSD's that showed up on a OBDII scanner. I went back to stock wires using the koolsocks and no more misfire codes.
Callawaycars.com sells some nice wire sets...pricey but they look sweet!

Of course, now that I ordered the MSDs you guys mention misfires!
...So, what causes it, too much resistance, plug gap too wide, or leaky wires?

did anyone notice a drop in gas mileage AFTER switching to MSD plugswires? I seem to have dropped from 20 to 19, driving the same to and from work each day. also switch to NGK Iridium plugs. what gives?
