Default Shifter Boot for Hurst Shifter

Does anyone know if this shifter boot fits the hurst shifter that goes in the C5? It looks like you might be able to trim the stock shifter boot/cover thingy out in the middle so that this boot could fit under it (and over the hurst base). Maybe that would seal out some noise?

Are you talking about the leather boot? I'm referring to a rubber boot that goes under the leather boot. This would be for quieting purposes only. You wouldn't see it.

Don't bother with buying anything new for the Hurst. You shouldn't need it.
I took the existing rubber and carefully trimmed the bottom with a razor and it now fits snug and tight and the noise is almost non-existent.

Thanks. There seems to be a lot of people on here who take issue with the noise. Do you think there is variation between cars or are some people just more picky than others?

Noise level tolerability is different for all of us.
I just hated hearing the noises. I also noticed another weak spot is where the carpet fits under the dash/shifter plate. I found it when running wires for my new audio/dvd setup.
I'll eventually remove carpet and use the sound deadening stuff on all the floor pans etc.
Lots of work but I've heard it makes a BIG difference.

I forgot all about the OE rubber one...I just trimmed mine to fit around my Hurst.
