If the DTC is a history code, resetting the DIC will clear the DTC from memory. I don't know if you can recall the DTC's with an OBDII after that, I do not believe so. If the DTC is Current, resetting the DIC will clear the code from memory until you start the Vette again, and if the condition is present, the DTC will be 'thrown' again.
So if I understand this correctly, you are just resetting the DISPLAY of the DTC, but NOT resetting the actual sensing circuit that triggered the display of the DTC.
The fault itself must be fixed, or the computer will sense the fault again which in turn, will cause the DIC to diplay the DTC again. Do I have it right?
