2000 Vette ring seal question
Is there a ring seal problem on 2000 Vettes? I am looking at one and remember seeing some posts regarding problems with the rings sealing on some C5's

I thought the article was in Corvette Magazine, but not september's at least. I did read about it, and yes. IIRC its one particular cylinder thats affected more than the others. Expensive fix. Caused by holding the engine at higher revs for extended periods.
If it blows smoke on acceleration, probably want to pass it up. I saw an 01 Z06 on the dyno recently here in Houston, and it was smokin' like a big dog too.

yea ...seal problems
My problems were due to 5 out of the 8 cylindrs only having one compression ring instead of two - (the other ring grooves were EMPTY) - this caused blow by after the one ring wore enough. Fix involved some new pistons (some of the empty ring lands had cracked) and new rings all around. It's been running great since - no burning oil etc. Left me rather surprised and very glad I had an exended warranty - as the dealer indicated that the fix would not be "covered" under normal warranty!! - Go figure!!!
