Loud Pop on start-up.

Hi Guys;
Just looking for a little help in trying to diagnose a problem with my 99 vert. On start-up only when its cold.{like we have cold weather in Fl. its been 75-80 every morning} it makes a strange loud like back fire out the pass. tail-pipe.

It makes one loud pop than everything is fine. Idles great, runs great and start-ups after that are fine. Its only on the initial start after sitting overnight. Any thoughts on this would sure be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Don't worry about it - a little raw gas get caught in the exhaust and ignites. Lets the neigbors know that you have the Vette out. My 02 has done it once in a while for years and no problem.

May be a leaking injector. Try some Berryman Fuel System Cleaner and see if it helps. Otherwise replacement is probably necessary to fix it.

any codes? hold the options button and hit the fuel button 4 times; don't worry you can't mess up anything; sometimes the air ck valves can stick open or leak
