I just bought some Z06 wheels for my 2000 Non Z06 C5. What would you recomend for tires. I live in Rochester NY, I only drive the car in the summer but it does rain here quite a bit. I never run the car at a track event but like to run through the gears occasionally. I do city and highway driving and would like the following from my tires:
Good dry and wet handling
Comfortable ride
Good tread life ---15K miles min.
As little road noise as possible
I'm also not sure whether to buy Run Flats or not.
Sorry for the long post,
Thanks for any guidence you can provide,
DFA
I was running the Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Positions no complaints here just cost too damn much $250 each front $290- each rear. This time around I was going to go with the Pilot sport 2's but opted for the Kumho Ecsta MX's GREAT TIRE!! Not the Ecsta 712 I hate center channeled water designs. The MX is an all around performer.Best of all $700 shipped to my door from TireRack.....
I know what some people say about TireRack.....but some also believe the same about the things Summit Racing sells and even Lowe's or Home Depot. To each his own...my tires won't stay on the car that long ...DAMN ASPHALT!!!

I too live in Rochester (Chili) and I do about the same type of driving as you.I have a 2002 convt and I installed Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Z rated run flats and love them. The best price I could find was Tire Rack,Nice people to do busness with.......
I have 2000 coupe and switched from stock runflats to the GSD3's and they are great tires and are superb in the rain and very quiet. Cost is a consideration and they are not runflats.
BF Goodrich GForce KDW's are in my opinion the best tire out there. I have a friend that owns a tire store. He was sent out to California to a test course where they took 4 C6's out and put BFG Geforce on 1, Pirelli P-Zeros on 1, Toyo's on the other and left one of them with the stock goodyears. He said about 20 people drove the cars without being told what tires were on which car. They measured the times through the course dry, wet everything. 18 out of the 20 drivers picked the Gforce tires as the best tire, and it was backed up with the times for most of the drivers. Since then I have put them on my Trans Am and my Acura CL which I have sold both now. When it comes time for me to get new tires for my C5 I just got 2 weeks ago I have no question which tires I am going to get. Gforce.. They are awesome. If you are never going to drive in wet get the KD's otherwise get the KDW's.
I put GoodYear F1 Gs-d3's on my C4 a year ago.... Best tire I have ever had. Sticky, quiet, great turn in.
when i change out the runs craps on my C5 I know what I am buying.
