What's wrong THIS time?
I had the cruise shut off on me repeatedly coming back from Carlisle. I have an '04 MN6 vert. Even though it is under warranty, I would like to figure this one out here. A few thousand miles ago I had a knock sensor go and the idiot dealership insisted on replacing the computer before replacing the correct part-in spite of the DIC giving the knock sensor code!
This time I had the "Service Traction Control" come up on the DIC multiple times. I could feel a single brake (not always the same corner) touch on by itself and the cruise would disengage. I now found these codes:
C1287H steering sensor rate malfunction
U1160H Loss of comm with LDCM
U1064H Loss of comm with LDCM
B0367H Rt. actuator feedback open
B2723H PASS key detection curcuit
Please help. The last time it took them 3 visits and I got stuck with a beat up 200K mile POS Delta 88 while they scratched their heads.
I know where you bought your vette but where would you now go in the area for corvette service? Obviously the dealer in the Naples area will be making his money from GM but it is not very much fun for you.
You need some corvette savvy techs!

Farnsworth in Canandaigua has done the service that I talked about earlier. They told me their Vette tech was in GMs top 10 a few years ago. Nice guy but I was not happy with trashing my good computer for nothing. Had I known I would have bought and installed the knock sensors myself. Johnson Chevy is about 50 miles from here. For now I'm hoping for an answer here. I'm also giving some thought of saying goodby to the car. Our 110K mile Chrysler has been more reliable.
That is too bad. I remember when you and your son went to get it in MI. That was a great day but now the car is being a pain.
That is not acceptable, the GM staff should be full tilt to help a corvette out of trouble.

Yeah Mark, I thought that I would own this one forever when I bought it. Back then I thought that it would be more reliable than an old muscle car. At least I always knew what was wrong when something acted up on my old stuff. Just under 20K on the clock and it makes me wonder what it will be like when I have to pay for the repairs. I just drove down to Naples and the ABS turned itself on a couple of times while driving straight on a dry road at 55 MPH. Each time it lasted less than a second, but something obviously is not right. I really was hoping for an answer here before bringing it to Farnsworth.
