Help with Front End Noise
What exactly did you do to determine it was a front hub vs. a rear hub? What exactly did you do to determind it was the right hub vs. the left hub?
When you are going straight down the road, the force on the right front bearing is the same as when you are turning to the left, so it's no surprise that there was no change in the noise.
When you are going straight down the road, the force on the left front wheel bearing is one way, and when you turn to the left, the force on that bearing is just the opposite. Since the force on the bearing during the left turn is just the opposite and the noise starts, I would change the left bearing.
I know this may be hard to accept, or visualize, but if I could draw you a picture to demonstrate what I am saying, it's much easier to understand.
I've not had the front hubs off my C5, but in some cases a front hub can be bolted to either side because everything is identical. If this is the case with the C5 put the hub you took off on the other side and see if the noise goes away.
