Another Weekend, another mod (only 5 min)
I had a remote for the garge door opener i picked up from the local HomeDepot. It is one of the smallest garage door openers i have found.
p/n GMI-3BL (GENIE TYPE REMOTE)
I was looking for a good place to put it, i think i found that spot.
Double stick tape it to under the stering colum shroud. When it is placed there you can barly see it from any position, all you do is reach under the stering wheel and push the button. (remove the key ring before mounting)
Use some high strength double stick tape and attach it to the underside of the stering colum plastic schroud.
Make sure to clean both surfaces with some rubbing alcohol befor attaching the double stick tape. Dont rub to hard on the plastic shroud.
I will try to post some pictures later.
To all have a great Labor Day weekend.
If you have the small remote or one like it would be only a few $$ 1-2 for the doubl stick tape.
if you need to buy the small remote then it would be aprov 30.00 if you bought a new one from home depot.
if you need to buy a new remote anyway get the smaller one. and trade someone in your family

the i programed it is there is a small button on the garage door opener itself. push the button on that a red light wil start blinking, push the new remote button twice, and it should work.
