Default Oil question ( simple question )

Hello,
I was cleaning my battery, and decided to check my oil ala the dip stick. I ck'd a few times, and to me it shows the oil level right at "ADD OIL".
Nothing has come up on the DIC, and my engine oil life is
75%. Should I add a quart? I'm thinking that I should go
out and buy a case of Mobil 1 syn 5-30, and just add a quart, but I thought I'd post this just in case things have
changed over the years since I used to work on my own
cars, (non corvettes), and now.
Thanks in advance!!

The owners manual requires changing the oil and filter when indicated by the oil life monitor, OR at least annually. With 75% remaining on the oil life, you probably don't need an oil/filter change unless it has been over a year since the last one.

In high G-loading, the LS1/LS6 can become oil starved and result in loss of oil pressure and hence the engine. For the Z06, Chevy recommends running a full quart over the full mark for the track. Thus, running at the full mark is probably a good idea. If you are at the low mark, I'd add a quart up to the full mark.

Switch to Castrol Syntec, That way you won't be low next time.
Just changed mine at 6 months and 2600 miles

there is a debate on this foruma s to whether 6.5, 6.9 or 7.0 quarts of oil is the correct fill level upon oil change.
If you are between changes, it is normal to use some oil.
I would add 0.5 quart of Mobil 1 5W30 or another brand of Synthetic motor oil of your preference. Check to see if that does it, if not add the remainder of the quart.
The only difference from other cars is the quantity in the system and the recommendation to use only synthetic of 5W30 weight confirming the the GM spec.
