Well, my Check Engine light just came on... I just installed my Halltech Stinger on my Z06... I checked the codes, the only ones showing are 171 and 174, the lean fuel codes... would this cause the check engine light to come on?
And also, how do I remedy this problem so my computer adjusts for the increase in air flow?? I remember there being a write up on how to "learn" your computer how to do this:
I have the same year and color Z as you. I also have the same intake. So we both have the same lean code problem. I too have searched for a remedy, and have yet to do so. I've added some other mods since, so i'm going to go for a dyno tune in the next week or so.
I think a forum member has tried this and hasn't had any problems since.
There is also this cold air mod, that the shop manager from the shop i'm going to have dyno tune my Z, said would clear the code. It's cheap, and will send more cold air to the filter. Instead of sucking in the warm air from the engine compartment. I'll let you know how it goes.
There's two ways to eliminate the codes and check engine light, common on late Z06s when using the Halltech stinger; use a screened MAF or have the car tuned. The screened MAF worked for me.
