any particular Vararam system? I'm not sure if there is more than one style to choose from and what the differences would be...Thank you.

OK, but what if you bought the LG Pro Long Tube headers and THEN installed the Vararam?? That is the question.

Each step of the later will be one rung down.

And for those of you who are willing to go for price only? Well LG Motorsports will be producing a header product to fill the gap.

LG Motorsports will have a less expensive header without the premium features of the Pro Long Tubes but they will have the price that some are looking for. They will be available by Christmas.(tell your wife)

Thanks guys.

What exactly is different about the non premium header you are mentioning?

You answered it...The LG's are more expensive for a reason. Lou did a great job earlier in this thread explaining why. Lou will be getting my business very shortly!

Edit - Ok, I totally misread the question. Glad Lou came in and cleared it up!

Hi,

Thanks for the question. Our less expensive headers will still have our long tube design that we came out with originally with our LG Pro Long Tube Headers.( often imitated, never duplicated) The expensive parts are the Merge Collectors, the hand fabricated X pipe and the full 3" mid/rear pipes.

In our new "LG Pro Street headers" (new name to fit the product ) we will use standard header industry collectors instead of the higher priced "Merge" Collectors. they we will replace the hand fabricated 3" X pipe with a stamped 2.5" X pipe similar to many that are on the market also. A Machine can stamp an X pipe much faster than a person can bend, cut and weld one.
Then we will include 2 1/2" pipes to connect to the rear mufflers. Again, this will cut the cost. We already did some tests on the dyno and found that our original LG Pro Long Tubes still make the extra 10 hp just like we found against other brands that are built similar to our "LG Pro Street" headers.

We felt that we were losing sales based on price and that not all header buyers need the last few horsepower. So we felt that there was a compelling reason to build our own version of our own LG headers that will fill the gap in between. The customer's needs are all that matter.

One major difference between our "LG Pro Street" header and the competition will be the ability to purchase the complete system as either an "Off Road" version or with cats. the cats will be a slip on arrangement with a 3" inlet and a 2.5" outlet. The off road version will be able to have cats installed at a later date.

Pricing is being figured out as we speak but they will either match or beat current pricing of the less expensive brand.

Hope this answers your questions and I hope we can fill your header orders soon.

Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM

With logic like that, why not just put a pair of Vortec turbos on it and blow them all away with the Dynatechs.

I've owned both brands and the LG's made more power and torque. The most impressive part was the gains under the curve. Unfortunately, most poeple get cought up in peak numbers and only look at half of the picture.

Headers: A commonly debated and discussed topic no matter what, or, how often. However, in the interest of brevity: Both manufacturers (Dynatech, and, Borla: the makers of the LG Motorsports Headers) offer great quality header products. However, if price is an issue, the Dynatech's are, by far, a better value as stated above. Go for it. And, enjoy.

I believe the logic goes like this. If you want a product to add hp and if it is not your last investment in hp then it makes sense to maximize your investment and amortize your labor costs per horsepower.

another way to look at it is with Camshafts or cylinder heads. assuming that drivability is equal on 2 cams or cylinder heads. And gaining the most horsepower is your end goal, then it make better sense to get the most power for your investment in labor the first time around.

That is why we sell so many LG installed Cam/head/header packages. The value is in the results.

Then you can put your Twin Vortec Turbos on with our LG headers and be even better.

Also keep in mind from my post that LG Motorsports will have a very nice lower priced Corvette header available before Christmas with pricing that will compete with the pricing of the lower priced brand of header, and match or exceed the power output.

We want to be your Corvette supplier for anything that you would want to install on your Corvette from headers to shift *****.

If there is a product that we don't have, and there is a demand, then we will try our best to be a competitive supplier for the Corvette community.

thanks for your time.

Can you also do this with your current LG Pro's? I was considering ordering the off-road version but would like the ability to easily add cats later on if need be...

Maybe because vortec doesn't make turbos. Another reason might be because if you meant someone who does make turbos, you are looking at about $10,000 more than a set of headers to get them put on your car.

You are forgiven. I made a mistake once too

Just kidding. I am sure that you will enjoy your new headers. Of course I would like to be your supplier for you next modifications.

Let me know if we can help you with anything else.
