Default NEED HELP: Cooling Problems (URGENT)

Alright so here's the story, the past 2 weeks I've been working at getting my bumper repaired from the scuff caused by the shipping company, while moving to WA from TX. Alright, well I currently have an 180 degree T-Stat, which had been already calibrated in the tune MTI put in. Well usually I would run between 192-198 on the highway, and roughly 199-205 in the city. Well after getting my car back the first time I noticed that on the highway I was between 199-201, and in the city 201-208, and at 208 it would start dropping. Well I took my car in again this week(b/c the shade was off) and got it back thursday, now my temps are 203-207 on the highway, and 212-247 in the city. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? I'm thinking that maybe the repair company has something to do w/ this. You guys got any idea of what it might be? Thanks in advance.

Here's the link to the last thread I started last week concerning this:

My only thoughts are:

a) you need to pull the radiator shroud and give the radiator and a/c condensor a good cleaning with a hose...you can seperate the 2 slightly by lifting the a/c one up and out gently...to give more space for cleaning

my other thought is that somehow they managed to bend some fins on the radiator restricting airflow which would be hard to see without pulling the shroud and cover but it may be worth a look...speaking of which may wanna see if they some how compromised the air space between the plastic shroud and the radiator decreasing airflow....

Good luck man

You mentioned a repair company, a body shop I assume. Did they do any painting of your bumper on the car? It sounds to me that if they did this last time, and now your temps are much more noticeably higher, Get under the bumper and see if there is any masking paper blocking the a/c condensor. That would cause your temps to get pretty hot.

Check your fluids-oil and coolant.
Check to see if a large piece of paper has been sucked up and is covering your radiator.
Check your fuses to see if the fan relay fuse is burned out.
Check to see if both fans are functioning.

I had a piece of newspaper get sucked from the road and was covering a large part of the radiator.

In addition to all that has been mentioned... Check to see if they replaced the air damn under the car.. If they did... check to see if it's installed it correctly.

It was the coolant guys, thanks for all your alls help. It seems like the body shop, kept draining coolant when they'd remove the bumper. Why? I don't know, so therefore, my coolant was really low.

Everything is back to normal again 192-198 on the hwy, and 199-201 in traffic. (H/C car)
