If you smoked a Z06 Clutch in an LS1 with roughy 60 more RWHP than a Z06 then I'm sorry to say it was either already bad from the factory or just plain old user error.
Well, If you look at my sig you will see that I have 17 GM service techs that work for me, plus I am VERY close friends with our area service rep, and I have had MANY conversations with him regarding this type of stuff.
You start to push the limits of a Z06 clutch in the upper 400's rwhp (460-475) Ask ANY tuner shop on this forum if a Z06 clutch will very easily hold 410RWHP. And I guarantee you they will tell you yes. If not, I'll eat crow..
I can't say I agree if racing is even a "maybe" for the car in question. If you're a blue hair and you only take your h/c vette out to the salon for your Thursday appointment, and maybe a trip by the baptist bingo parlor on the way home, I might agree. If for whatever reason you fancy dropping the clutch from 6200rpms, forget about it. My Z06 clutch lasted all of 500 miles after I added a cam and bumped up to about 400rwhp. It was simply inadequate for 90% daily driver/10% weekend warrior application with 400+rw.

Da@n Brother, I'm only 32.. I'm not that old. Almost NO clutch will hold for extended periods of times while dropping it at 6200 rpm.
I have a 1600.00 clutch that grenades with enough abuse.
I'm in need of a new clutch, and was wanting to know what the CF crew recomends. I'm putting down ~410 rwhp and will be getting 4:10's also installed at the same time....so with that info what clutch would you recomend (preferably one that won't chatter)?
No where in this original post doeas it say anything about Abuse, Auto X'ing, Drag Racing, etc etc etc... The only thing the thread originator wanted was for it to hold the power and NOT chatter.

Stock 2006 Z06 (LS7) clutch and pressure plate with a LS2 flywheel. ~$500 shipped from Fred Beans
I am with GTO Scott on this one - C6 Z06 clutch & PP with the LS2 flywheel all the way! Several people over on 'tech are having good results with this.

Are there any other parts that need to be upgraded (like master or slave cyl) to use the '06 Z06 Clutch,PP, & Flywheel?

IMO, the master cylinder upgrade is a recommended item. It is not necessarily needed. For a relative comparison, it is a debacal and could be related to the necessity of what engine block do you buy - the LS2 or the LQ4/9? It is preference only...again, IMO.
2006 Z06 clutch.
What kind of power should this hold upto?
Chevrolet has redesigned the clutch and PP, in accordance with the new power of the LS7, so IMO I would think it would hold 500-525rwhp/rwtq easily.
I am basing this on the margin from previous Z06 clutches (405 bhp - 450rwhp variance...as some users are reporting good hold to that level).

oh no...I didn't mean that about you in particular...sorry
i just recently pulled out my stage 4 spec ceramic due to the fact it had lots of miles on it and i assumed the clutch was toast since something just wasnt right with my car. come to find out it was a trashed torque tube bushing.
The stage 4 spec ceramic with ~3 years of service +50,000 miles of often full throttle blasts still has like new amount of meat on it (compared to the new one that i bought and didnt need). I could not be more pleased with the durability of this clutch, it continues to stump me how worn it isnt! Since i have already bought a new clutch though (stage 3 spec), i'm going to go ahead and install it. I have debated on sticking the stage 4 back in, but i suppose i will give the stage 3 a chance and see if it is a little more "driver friendly". The stage 4 can be a headache due to its very stiff pedal feel, quick engagement and occasional sqeal due to the ceramic. But if you want a clutch that will last, the stage 4 has proven to amaze me.
What symtoms did you have that a Trashed torque tube bushing?
