Default Memory Seat Problem

I have a problem where the seat doesn't always move to its correct position when I get into the car. It appears to be the forward motion of the seat. I am using the correct remote and even if I hit the button for the proper preset inside the car), I have to hit the button a couple of times to get it to the correct position.

I tried pulling the fuse for the driver seat module (I think #4 in the passenger footwell) but that didn't seem to help. Any ideas or should I just make an appointment at the dealership (I am still under warranty)

Thanks,
Chris

Yeah, me, you and everybody else it seems. I even turned it off, and the seat still goes back when turning the car off, but didn't even make an attempt to go forward. Damn thing is possessed. Of course it's 6 months out of warrenty.

Check the DTC codes that are stored in the DIC. If you have any DTC's for the SCM, LDCM or BCM, that could be the problem. Post all of the codes that you find and once you write them down, clear them and see if that takes care of the issue or see if the codes come back.

There were tons of codes when I checked..The common thread is 1064, which I believe is a loss of communication

IPC 8 Codes - 1255H, 1064H, 1016H, 1040H, 1056H, 1088H, 1176H, 1160H
Radio 3 Codes - 1064H, 1096H, 1016H
LDCM 1 Code - 1064H
RDCM 1 Code - 1064H

I will clear them and see if they comeback, but the drivers seat problem occurrs regularly (note. I did pull the fuse for the driver seat module, so I am sure some of the codes have to do with that)

If you're still under warranty, take it in. At the very least, this will allow GM to document in their computer system the problems you're having.

Last winter mine did the same thing. Weird thing is, it's been fine now for about 5 months. This happened through most the Winter...then for no reason at all it started working correctly again. Maybe when I disconnected my battery it reset something? I dunno...it makes no sense. All I know is it is working like a champ now.

Chris mine does the same thing here and there too. some times the doors don't even unlock - good thing for the window valet...

I have tried to even turn off the easy out seat adjustment setting and still the seat does what it wants.

Maybe the computer is just tired and takes some time off....

Default Memory Seat Problem

I've been plagued by memory seat problems for six years. Yeah, the system is posessed. I think the root of the problems are related to intermittent problems on the Serial Data Link. As a thought, if you have had any battery leakage issues with your car, make sure the wiring harnesses and connectors to the PCM are all okay. I spent a fortune getting an acid mess cleaned up and that seemed to exorcise my memory seat problems (until of course another battery peed again).

I have been lucky, no battery problems. I inspect it everytime I do an oil change on the car...Oh well, I guess it will be off to the dealer
