Default Another Coolant Question

If surge tank is overfilled will coolant escape when hot? I seem to be losing a bit from top hose connection when I park after a drive. Temperature is fine while driving. Replaced the clamp with one that is a a bit stronger. Inspected the nipple on the tank and it seems sound. It still seeps a bit. Is this due to overfill ? Any input is appreciated. Thanx

Maybe, is the fluid over the cold mark when it ahs been sitting? When I had mine flushed they put to much in and it overflowed at the tank cap. If it is over filled it will leak

The overflow will come from around the cap and drain toward the battery compartment. If it is leaking from the top nipple you may have a crack to small to see. There is a brass insert in that nipple to keep it from flexing, and if it is not pushed in to the tank all the way the hose can pull down on it and cause a crack. The part # for the surge tank is 10405218. It lists for $76.70 and you can get it for $47.73 from Bob @ Fitchners, or ask your local dealer to price match.
