Default Brake pad Question ???

I do not track my car at all but I do occasional canyon runs. I have Baer Eradispeed rotors and Hawk pads. I really hate the brake dust and all the noise the Baer pads make. My question is, how does ceramic brake pads do? In particular the stock GM pads. Does anyone recommend another pad for what I'm trying to accomplish? I do realize that I will have somewhat less braking performance with ceramic pads compaired to metalic pads. I also heard that ceramic pads wear your rotors out faster, is this true?

Ceramic brake pads have their place in the automotive industry, just not the performance end.

Ceramic brake pads will reduce dust and noise, but will also take longer to stop your car. If you are doing 'canon' runs you want pads to stop your car and do so repeatedly, Ceramic pads are NOT for you. Hawk pads are notorious for dust and are some of the worst dusting brake pads.

A good choice is the stock C5 ZO6 brake pad for better performance or jus teh stock C5 brake pads.

Drilled and slotted rotors will cause the brake pad to ware down faster. Why?? Well the 'slots' on the rotors were designed to scrap the brake pad of any glazed materail or excess brake dust and they do just that as well as scrap the brake pad.

Ceramic brake pads are fine for normal boaring street driving. But if you like to get into driving a hard braking more then once in a blue moon, then ceramic brake pads are not for you.
