Default Fast Intake ?

Hey fellas,

I am putting "some more" finishing touches on my 408 and was wondering if it was worth the dollars to upgrade from the LS-6 intake to the Fast intake? Would also do the throttle body.....

The cost would be close to $1,000.....how much rwhp would it be worth? I already have an NX kit that is getting installed as we speak. I really have a hard time spending nearly $1,000 if it is not really gonna give me a noticeable difference?

I am making about 480 rwhp and 465 rwtq before I added larger Kooks 1 7/8'' headers & cutouts......

Any input is appreciated....

Default Yes

YES!
Especially with a bigger cube than 346
I would consider it on a max effort 346
Fast 90mm and Nick Williams TB

I have a 90 mm Fast and Nick Williams TB on a 346. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Do you plan on going F/I. If so, there have been more than a few threads in the F/I section that say it actually hurts the numbers. If your staying NA then I would definately go with it.

Another vote for the Fast intake and Nick Williams TB on bigger cubed NA engines.

I am in the same boat mod wise as you are. I currently run the TPIS oval T/B with modified LS6 manifold. I was thinking of swaping for a FAST Intake for the NA gains and the fact that if I went direct port on my N2O plans, FAST makes this easier. However while there would be gains I am told they would be minimal. (like 3-5 RWHP AND I may lose some RWTQ) So if I do it at all it will be for the N2O. Are you going direct port with your N20? If not save your dough for Tires

.....Still it goes on that people spread info that simply isn't true. As Tony Mamo said in his post, he has personally seen that manifold REPEATEDLY get 12hp with GAINS in TQ on multiple cars. Thisis over the LS6 too. 20 is the common gain from the LS1 and LS2 manifolds especially if you port match it to the intake ports on your heads.

I put that manifold on my C6 and there is at least as much pull from that as there was from my headers. Only take info from people with first hand experience.

Spinmonster WTF are you Dude...Go back and re-read my post, I do not have a stock intake set up, and was compairing mine to the FAST product. I have known Tony for several years, as far back as when he was a salesmen for Shafiroff... We still keep intouch, and I am well aware of his findings, btw more like 10-12 rwhp as compaired to a stock LS6.

For a NA setup the 90 mm TB and intake manifold is probably worth the scratch - personally, I'd apply that thousand bucks towards a power adder.

Cheers,

Mark

I already have a nx wet kit, but wasn't sure if it was worth the $1,000 for the mods i mentioned..... what would the gain be? Anyone know? 20 rwhp?

I have never seen more then 10-12rwhp, and that was a Fast 90mm compaired to a stock unported LS6
