There's been a bunch of multi function switch failures (Turn signal switch) lately. Sounds like you're next.

My 2000 Coupe was giving me the same problems. It started off and on, and got worse as time went by. When I turned on the signal, it would buzz constantly and the light stayed on. If I turned on the hazard and turned it off, it would work again for a short time. This was my solution: The hazard switch is also the main relay for the turn signals, so when it started going bad, the signals did as well. I replaced the hazard relay by myself, but it REALLY wasn't easy (About $40 for the part). I am not sure what the dealership would charge for doing this, but if I had it to do over again, I would just pay them to do it for me. My hands were cut up for days. I hope this helps. I haven't had one single problem with mine since I replaced this part.

Get the turn signal relay from GM Parts direct (10406626 Turn signal relay $ 24). There are some tips on installing this part on the forum. In short, pull the radio trim and remove the relay from the front of the dash rather than pulling the dashpad and getting it from the back.
