Default Rotor prep - Help!!

Hello,

I just recieved a set of AC Delco slotted/drilled rotors. Since these are not zinc plated, I imagine they will rust. What is the best way to prep these before I put them on my car to keep them looking new for years to come?????? I want to do this right and only once if possible.

Please help me figure out what to do or share what worked for you!

Thanks,
Greg

At minimum, I would apply "clear" to the hats. If you want to paint the hats a color that's fine but I would also clear them as a last step.

Use a wire brush to ruff up the hats and then use some VHT header paint.

I taped off the brake surface of my rotors and then painted the hub and the outside of the rotor with some high temperature caliper/rotor paint that I bought at Autozone. There are a couple different colors to choose from and so far it is holding up great.
