Default Does Anybody Know Where This Is?

Hello, i was wondering if anybody knows where the vacuum control solonoid valve is? Some people say it's beside the battery and some say it's beside the ecm. Can someone tell me how to get to it and what it looks like and how to test if it's bad. While removing the battery the positive terminal would not come off, then it broke off. Acid powder was all over the place. It must have leaked before. Need a new battery now. I'm still getting the p0410 code and i hear the pump working but no air is coming out, so i want to check the solonoid. Thank you.

I believe what you're referring to is the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve. It's inside the front passenger fender just above the PCM.

I was just sitting here thinking that I'd bet Ed (Patches) would know where it's at! You're a GOOD MAN Ed, and a definite credit to this forum!

Sorry to interupt your thread, but I just had to say that!

Hello, Ed (patches), thanks for the reply, but i went and checked for the secondary air injection vacuum solonoid valve and it wasnt there. My car is a 98 vette. Right under the battery tray is the pcm right? I found 2 vacuum hoses but they lead down to the bottom of the pcm to a small gadget. Could that be it? Do i have to remove my wheel well to get to it? Thanks for the help Ed!
