Default LS2 402 power

Can anyone share their RWHP & TQ for a 402 natural. Trying to determine if 500+ is feasible. Thanks.

I belive 500rwhp is very feasible. My buddy just had LG install and tune an SLP 402 Iron block with an LG H/C package. On 91 he put down 476rwhp/480rwtq and this was with 10.8.1 CR. On 93 he made a litlet more. I don't remember the exact numbers. I hope this helps. PM me if you want his exact set up.

We did a simular package here in the shop. SLP short block with a LGM GX2 (I think that's the right cam) AFR heads and we saw 475 to the wheels with simular torque. Some more aggresive on the cam and you should be able to see your target numbers.

I'll be posting a graph tomorrow on a 402 with a 239/243 cam, Fast 90 and our new 3" exhaust - 500 RWHP / 467 RWT.

Customer will not pick up until Saturday...still time for a test ride!

I remember that car.

Remember I have high flow cats with a Z06 TI and still got 475 RWHP. If I removed the cats and got a more free flowing exhaust I bet it would make 500 RWHP.

Steve it's funny that you rember the car. It maybe in the garage at your house. By the way, your dad came by the other day, I hope you got the package! He is a pretty funny guy.

Charlie,
You guys are getting into the exhaust business now? Let me know what type of exhaust stuff you guys come up with. Because your stuff works!!! We have been super happy with the supercharger packages you guys make.

I bet you are right.

Our new 3" exhaust project was launched on the premise that there was a significant power increase to be had (specifically on strokers and supercharged apps) and the results of that project have been impressive!

We built a solid baseline number around a 402, AFR heads, Kooks 1 7/8" heades, high flow cats, 3" x-pipe, and B&B Bullets. Tuning was optimized and we maxed @ 487 RWHP / 452 RWT

Next, we pulled the cat back completely off and re-tuned - we maxed @ 499 RWHP / 464 RWT

Finally, we installed our 3" system and re-tuned - the results were interesting...we maxed @ 501 RWHP / 467 RWT

I thought it was a train, but now I know it was just the guys at A&A having some fun. I love the sound of wide open exhaust. The sound of a motor humpping down a straight away, puts a smile on my face. The chassis dyno is the next closes thing.

With our 3" exhaust, the LS2 402 we just completed put out 505 rwhp/483rwtq SAE corrected!!!

This car was awesome. It was a 2004 CE Z16 Z06 with only 800 miles on it.

I haven't driven a car like that in a long time.

Here is the dyno sheet.

Stay tuned...Doug Ring at ECS is in the process of a forged 402 build that will go into his coupe (Chris's "old" car). I won't divulge all the "goodies" going into this engine except I do know its getting a pretty hefty cam...LG's G5X4, among other things. I predict that this engine will approach 550 rwhp and 475 rwtq. Time will tell.

Nice numbers, I like that TQ Curve. Can you post the Mechanical Specs of this engine?
