Tire size suggestions please...
I have purchased a new set of C6 wheels for my C5 and they are 8.5 in. wide in front and 10in. in the rear I was wondering if anyone can suggest what size tires I should run with these ,i want to go as wide in the rear as possible and I want to have a low profile look as far as the sidewalls go,I would greatly appreciate any suggestions anyone can offer. Thanks in advance ...

Gonna get a wide range of opinions here, but, I would start by looking at the Tire Rack, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/index.jsp , for specs on tire size. Narrow down to what brand and make tire you want, each offers there own sizes not all the same, then check specs. Specs will show you what range tire width you can fit safely, manufacturer recommended. Also, use this calculator to compare diameter front and back to stock to find something comparable. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp . Also look for about a one inch difference front and back in height, front being shorter.

I purchased a set of HRE wheels, 1/2" wider than stock C6, and put on the new generation Goodyear runflats, Eagle F1 Supercar EMT, in the stock sizes 245/40-18 and 285/35-19. They are quieter than the C5 runflats and I still have the security of flat protection.
