I called it about 2 pounds of dead weight since I removed the A/C system. What would it be worth.......

If you're serious about its worth. I would say nothing; if it has been sitting around with the ports open. If is was sealed up to prevent moisture and other contaminants from getting in; maybe $30-$40. I think new they cost about $100.
It is called an Accumulator.It is on the low pressure side of the HVAC system.It has a bag of Dessicant in it an helps absorb moisture from the system(dries the R134A before it goes to the compressor).Your GM system needs an Accumulator if you use your HVAC,and want it to last any length of time.
