Default Well it broke!

On Tuesday Sept.20 the motor went boom, and I wasn't even getting on the damn thing. The motor was my factory ls6 with my 02 zo6 with lt headers and intake. Alright before you say hydrolock; noway even proved it to the dealership I left everything that I had changed on the car.It appears after they removed the motor that something went terribly wrong with the # five cylinder, either the rod broke or the intake valve spring broke and let the valve and piston smack together. The motor had 64K miles can you believe it. Well gm sent a new motor under the ex warranty. The tech who is owner friendly suggested this was a good time for heads and cam. Read my next thread.

So the Headers, intake you already had didn't cause any problems with your warranty? And are you going to be using a GM Hi-perf cam, or will it be an aftermarket brand? I am very curious about how this effects the warranty. Thx

diffferent places are sometimes more mod friendly.

my local will only scrape my warranty if it causes the problem unless some where if they see a mod, ooops there goes your warrranty.

Holy Smokes. Well, I am thrilled that at over 60K miles that the extended warranty by GM came through for you, even with the aftermarket headers. So, just think: You can now go on ahead and order more brand toys for the heart (engine) of your beast. Good luck. Let us know how it all turns out.

Good thing to have the ext. warranty. How much longer do you have on it?? Seems like a h/c would be best after it ran out.
