What is the normal voltage, you should get when you start your car and drive for a bit, without any accessories on. I'm fluctuating between 13-13.8 volts. Is this good or bad?

I wouldn't go by the DIC. Mine at the DIC reads in the 11's, but at the battery and alt it's higher.

If you are getting a rapid fluctuation in your voltage readout, you may want to check your battery connection. Mine used to fluctuate between 13.2 -14 volts, my headlights would not always pop up first time and sometimes slow starting. Cleaned/tighten my battery connections and solved all problems at once. My voltage now is a steady 13.8-14 volts -

Hi Folks.
Since we are talking "electrical" I will slip in a question:
Need to change the battery of my beloved 2003 Z06. Any suggestions?

Thanks all

One of the most popular batteries here is the Optima Red Top battery. It is an AGM battery so it won't leak acid down your wiring harness located directly beneath your battery.

Back to the original question, when the engine is running, my DIC shows around 13-14 volts. That is perfectly normal. It will show less than that when you are in accessory mode.
