Default Need brake help for the track!

I am looking for what brake set up works best for the buck! I was using wilwood pads with stock rotors. After many cracked rotors I have switched to hawk pads. Not very satisfied with these pads. My home track is Road America possibly one of the most brutal tracks on brakes.
Looking for rotor and pad suggestions. I have a feeling I am going to need to change calipers as well. I will post a link soon for in car camera video.

I used to run stock rotors and Hawk HPS and just switched to Power slot slotted rotors and carbotech pads. really like the pads a lot. Just returned from 2 days a Laguna Seca with little fade and not much wear.

Your Wilwood H pads with the stock rotors ARE the best bang for the buck.

a few things to note. the rotors ( NAPA or Stock) must be bedded properly.

find a nice straight no traffic road and do
three to five 40-5 mph stops
three to five 80-5 mph stops
three to five 100-5 mph stops
drive car 30-40 min to cool the brakes
put car away for 24 hours to finish the cooling process.

Next the those brakes need cooling. If you dont have the DRM brake cooling ducts get them.

The WORST pads I have even used on the track where Hawks HPS then the HP Plus. Stock pads worked better. One weekend on the pads and they were toast, down to less then 20% remaining.

Hawk pads are also nortorious for dust. The Hawk Blues, Blacks HT10s and other HT # pads are great pads.

Brake fluid. Motul, ATE Superblue or ATE 600 Gold or Castrol SRF.

The other option we may have this summer are the new C6 ZO6 brakes, about $1600 for the set ( claipers, rotors and pads) but need 18" wheels. Wilwood will have pads for these new calipers shortly too.

Napa rotor #s
86700
86701
86702
86703

about $26 each

I use the NAPA rotors, Carbotech pads, and Wilwood EXP 600 Plus fluid and can run a 40 minute SCCA T1 race without brake fade. Carbotech makes several grades of pads. For those running DOT race rubber, such as Hoosier R3S04s, Kumho V710s, or Goodyear GS-CS, I recommend the XP-11 front, XP-10 rear. For street rubber, you probably don't need that much bite and can use either the XP-9 front, XP-8 rear for experienced drivers, or XP-8 front, Panther-Plus rear for novices. The Carbotech line is not metallic so the dust won't trash your wheels, even if you don't clean them immediately.

Carbotech pads available through forum vendor pfyc.com, Wilwood EXP 600 Plus through forum vendor Hardbar.

You need DRM ducts and LGM spindle ducts to run hard otherwise it won't matter what you put on there. Air cools the brakes.
