What temperature do you require your engine oil to reach before you start to drive aggresively? There may not be a "correct" answer but would appreciate a consensus. TIA
depends on the motor...after its over 100-120 i really wouldnt worry about it that much unless you're making some crazy power and tolerances are more important..
When your oil is cold, it is much thicker and will not flow as well. One way to keep an eye on this besides oil temp, is oil pressure. I keep my eye on oil pressure as I warm up my oil and limit rpm to keep oil pressure under about 65 psi or so.
visocity doesnt change as much in synthetic oils nor do the friction reducing properties that you should actually be concerned with, it's really not as big a deal as most of you make it..my car wouldnt still be going if it were
Depends on how often I drive my car, a daily driver will not accumilate little if any water in the oil, so 150-160 is fine, if it has sat for a week I want to see 180+ to vaporize any water in the oil.

lol .. mine gets grumpy if she sits longer than a few days.
Thanks to all. It appears, from your answers that perhaps one should wait until 150-160. That is lower than I was using. You know what that means....more fun earlier in every drive.
