Has anyone in the Massachusetts, or for that matter the entire Northeast, had any trouble passing emissions with JUST a swap to LONG TUBE HEADERS? I have had inspection people tell me yes, but I don't know if they are just talking. This has kept me on the line for a while, as I never seem to get a clear answer. How about some real life experiences with this issue? Also, to coat or not to coat.
Ive passed two NY inspections with headers and high flow cats
This year I had the TR224 cam installed and moved to Virginia.
I also passed Virginia inspection. Both states have the sniffer test
If MA uses the OBD II port for testing, finding someone with HPTuners, EFILive, EAse or other E/M software and run the emissions test. It will tell you if you pass or fail.
I was wondering the same thing. MA IS ising OBD II. So, if you throw any codes you are toast. This can be a problem with some headers. The other concern is if they are doing a visual inspection. I don't know the answer to this. The best thing to do is to call the MA inspectiongroup directly. I have done this before and they were very friendly and helpful!
