Help with codes/traction control/no compression
I had just turned the traction control off and ran 1st up to 5800 then hit 2nd and back on the gas(6sp). At around 5000 in first the car started loosing power and the CEL came on when shifted to second. No tire spin or rev limiters hit when this occured or anytime that day. I limped the car home and towed it to a dealer, he did a compression check and found 2 and 7 dead/low? The codes I have are Powertrain control mod PO300 engine misfire - Instrument panel cluster BO521 tach signal circuit malfunction - Traction control U1096 loss of comunication with IPC - U1064 LOC with BCM - U1016 LOC with PCM. Are they all related? I did not check the codes until this happened so one might have been there already if possible. So where do I start, valvetrain? Thanks- Steve

Sounds like a bent pushrod or broken valve springs! That would be the very first thing that I would check! The p0300 is normal in this situation!
The rest of the codes are most likely history and can be cleared! The loss of comms codes happen a lot and can be the result of a low/weak battery.
