since i have the 90mm intake and TB. is it all right to run the vent line off the front of the valve cover through the catch can with the pcv line? thanks pat
I think it would be better it you made a small hole in the airbridge and installed a small grommet and air fitting to grab fresh air there. In front of the the throttle blade is higher pressure, behind it is lower pressure. You need the pressure differential to achieve PCV. I am running 2 catch cans, one for the LS6 PCV conversion, and the other from the valve cover to the air bridge. I'm doing this because I removed the oil baffles from inside the valve covers and I don't want oil wroking it's way into the air bridge. It seems to work fine for this.
On the vent line, if you are worried about oil blow by, use a fuel filter.
Like this one, but on the vent line. This pic is before I added one to the vent line. They are a NAPA 3003 filter and cost $3 and can be changed easily when dirty.
If you look at GM's last best effort as on the 04 Vettes there is no PCV valve and the valve covers are not vented. There is a plug in the left cover where the PCV valve was in previous years and the right valve cover is solid.
Anyway, I run the rear two PCV vents tied together with the old tubing and use the front right as a vent with a small filter tucked under the FRC. The LS6 valley tube is tied to the can and back into intake. This works better than the other 5 ways I have tried it. Very little oil in the can or intake.
2000 with LS6 Valley, intake and billet race proven cheapo Ebay catch can.
