I have a Hurst shifter in my car for 3 years now and love it much better of the long through of the stock shifter.

I just had my Hurst installed today and love it. It is a bit noisy though, but I can deal with it.

I prefer the C6 Shifter. Shorter stalk, shorter throws, no difference in effort to get into any gear.

I am in the process of buying a C5 and the one flaw is the shifter.
In all other respects it flat out DESTROYS the C4, smoothness, fit and finish, just everything.

So my question is, how much to these shift kits cost? I believe it will be my first mod.
thx, Rich

cut down stock shifter here...I had the hurst for a few months, didnt like it..too stiff for everyday driving ...sold it and bought the kirban, didnt like that either for everyday driving and i was missing WOT shifts due to the timing of the shorter throw at the drag strip (my problem not the shifter) but again too stiff for everyday driving to me...sold that, and never looked back, love the ease of the stock shifter into gear and I dont miss shifts anymore either....

I'm using the Hurst also, great feel. They come with extra springs that allow you to change the side-to-side stiffness. I used the heavy spring for the 1-2 gate and the stock lite spring for the 5-6 gate. This give a great feel for 2-3 shift and still OK for 6-3 shift.

JEGS had these for $149 sometime back that was what I paid but now they are a little higher. They say 97-01 but the same shifter fits all manual C5's. Very easy to install if you can do the simplest of work on a car, but still fairly easy to install for those who never work on their cars. Installs from the top under the console, don't even need to jack up the car.

$175-$220. My BPP is super-short throw and 16-way adjustable for any physique on the planet.

I really like the feel of the B+M ripper in a C5, excellent quality as well.

I just ordered a C6 ZO6 shifter from Fred Beans.

"It appears that there is a Z06 shifter
difference. We can offer that to you with the **** and bolt for 180.82
+
18.50 shipping. It is less expensive than the stock shifter!"

Nobody seems to know what the difference is though.
