Hi all I need a little help. Does anyone know the part number for the headlight / multi function switch. I need to order one so my dash and tail lights start working again.
Thanks in advance

are you sure it's the multi switch.....i have the same prob and i brought mine in on friday and it's the "head lamp switch" that's faulty......also a lot more $$ ($423 + diagnostic) than the multi switch. my multi switch is fine......damn corvette repairs

Just had mine replaced yesterday thank god for warranty. It would have been 450.00. I had no dash lights no tail lights and no fog lights everthing is good to go now.
Symptoms are no dash lights, tail lights and fog lights. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't. And as luck would have it my headlights are grinding when they close. Guess i'll be ordering the brass gears as well.
Interesting... the same exact symptoms yet two different problems. My headlights/brakelightsturnsignals work fine. It is the tail, fog, interior, reverse lights that are intermitent. I can get them to come on I just have to flip the little switch back and forth to parking light and off maybe a dozen or more times. What do you guys think? Headlight switch or Multi-switch?

Thats the same problem I have. Had it at the dealer and they wanted to replace the BCM for a mere $700 for the part plus labor. Basically told me there was no guaranty that this would solve the problem. So I began looking at the infomative threads here on the forum, did some searches and it seams that the consensus is the headlight/multi function switch. I'll be ordering the part tomorrow but probably won't have the time to install it till next weekend.
Friend,
If you could take pictures and do a write-up that would be excellent. I am sure they would save it as a Tech Tip since it seems to happen to other vettes quite a bit. I, for one, would really like to see the process considering I will have to do this in the very near future.
The headlamp switch and the multifunction switch are the same switch. Left side of steering wheel. The contacts inside go bad and it causes all these different symptoms.

I was beginning to wonder if it wasn't the same thing.
Does anyone have a play-by-play on how to switch this out? Tools needed, steps taken, etc? It would be much appreciated and would probably make a great tech tip
A co-member posted some instructions for me about a month ago...try a seach on my log in name.
Here's the big issue. Turn the steering wheel to gain access to the torx screw hidden by the wheel on the drivers side of the column. Once you see it, you'll need a long torx screw driver to undo this screw. The screw driver will not go to this screw straight on....it will be off angle, YET if you are patient and carefull you can remove the screw this way....DO NOT STRIP it. Else, this screw is why the factory manual says to remove the steering wheel.
Been there done that. an hour and a hAlf, in and out. You'll need to be creative with you tools though. I used a combination of torx and allen wrenches to extract the screws and becareful removing the covers they inter-lock on the backside. Once you have the covers off it goes quick, 2 screws from what I remember. Make sure the contacts line up correctly when you reinstall the new switch. In fact carefully watch how the old one comes off to see how it fits together. The part is roughly $130 from GMpartsdirect and $260 from the stealership plus labor plus the damage the Corvette specialist can exact on your car while in his posession. This is an easier DIY.
