Default Help! question on body repair

A few days ago my Z rolled into a 1ft high brick retaining wall and really scraped up the bottom half of the rear urethane bumper. I left it in neutral and it rolled down a very slight incline (6" in 30') so it did not hit hard. Some of the scrapes are maybe 1/32" deep. The color is torch red. Can I get this repaired and "spotted in" or does the entire panel need to be painted? Does it need to be removed for the whole thing to be painted! I would like some advice but not comments on what a dumb azz I am.
Thanks in advance

Try to see if a body shop can wet sand and polish it for you, that may be enough to get the scratches out.

The decision is yours for only you know how serious, visually and superficially, the damage really is. Frankly, if the damage is extensive, replace the bumper. At that point give Gene at the Karshop a call, and, he will be able to offer a great price for a perfect used replacement bumper. However, if the damage is merely integrated into the surface (no mangled cuts, rips, and, torn pieces), the "superficial" abrasions could be repaired very easily at a competent body shop. Good luck to you.
