Hi. I'm new to this so please be patient while i get familiar. I have recently acquired a 2000 silver convertible C5. I bought the car damaged and I'm currently rebuilding it. My question/problem is that I bought an '02 front clip to go back on the car. Now, I have figured out that my particular car has a separate IAT sensor along with the "three wire" MAF. The new parts I have came with a "five wire" MAF. I did some homework to find out that later models had the IAT sensor built-in to the MAF. Can my particular harness be modified to work with this newer MAF and if so will I need to flash the computer to read it correctly or do I just need to locate the correct MAF and IAT sensor for my year model and be done with it? Also, I plan in the VERY NEAR future to add a twin turbo kit to this car so any input that will speed this process along will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I say use the newer MAF. With twin turbos you will need all the air you cn get, bigger MAF is better. Also, you will be re-tuning the PMC for the turbos anyway, easy to do the MAF tables at the same time.

The adapter harness is around $40. If you don't already have it, you will also need the air bridge that fits the larger MAF.
I appreciate it guys. That helps me a lot. When I bought the parts to repair my car, I soon realized they had come from a newer model than mine. The front clip also came with a manual radiator instead of an automatic so I have to locate one of those too. It came withe the five wire MAF, air bridge, and a "modified" air filter housing....(a section cut out of the top of it). I hope to have the rest of my parts tomorrow so iI can get this thing on the road in about a week. Just being curious, but does anybody have an "approximate" real-world hosepower figure for an average cat-back system? This car came with a system on it but I'm not sure what brand it is. If my car came with 345 hp, I was wondering about what it's rating would be close to now. Thanks again guys.
Cat back systems don't net you much extra horsepower, less than 10 HP. The stock system flows well enough for a stock engine. Aftermarket is for bling and sound.
If you're planning on installing twin turbos, you'll need to tune and if you need to tune, you'll need software. With EFILive's FlashScan custom operating systems you can convert to speed density, reprogram for a 2-bar of 3-bar MAP sensor and eliminate the MAF altogether. Go to www.efilive.com for more details. I converted my '01 to speed density and it works great.
