Been getting RDCM U1064, LDCM U1064 & SCM U1064 Codes lately so this last time after clearing the codes, I have not used the window valet and the codes are not coming back. I made sure the battery cables were clean and tight, battery isn't too old, about 2 weeks ago, and yet I kept getting the codes. Besides a weak battery what would cause these codes, or is it just the price to pay by having the window valet??
How have you been noticing the codes? Are you checking specifically for the error codes with the DIC buttons, or is the 'Check Engine' light coming on? Are the error codes indicating C for current, or H for History? I've had a Window Valet in my '01 coupe for a while and haven't noticed any errors.
No check engine light, just periodically checking with the DIC buttons. Went two days checking everytime after parking for codes, didn't use the window valet. Used it today after work and when I got home I had all three codes again. Codes are always listed as H.
U1064H is loss of communication. I have been getting this off and on for months. Don't know for sure but I am thinking it might be a bad ground or loose connection. I also get U1160H, U1096H and U1016H, all loss of communication.
I don't have a window valet.
U1064 is nothing to worry about. You can forget it is there and there will be no consequence. The window valet has nothing to do with it. On my previous C5 I would get that code before and after I had installed the window valet. Never had any problems from ignoring it.
