From my understanding the 97-01s have the plastic swaybar endlinks? Well i went to the dealer to order the 02+(from my understanding these were upgraded to metal) but they said that all they had was still only the plastics and that the part number in the computer is the same for all years 97-04(hence same part) . Does anyone have the part number for the metal endlink found on the later years? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm guessing that GM only offers the metal ones now making all the part numbrers the same for all models. That dealer probably has some of the old plastic ones in stock that they got before they all went metal.
I've got plastic on my 00 z51. What is the problem with plastic? Is there some benefit of the metal ones? Would you change them irregardless, or might it be mileage related when they start to wear out?

Mine are on a 97 w/26000 and they appeared to be bending (warping) so that's the reason I'm replacing them.
