Ashtray lid
On my 1997, there is a door that covers the ashtray and lighter and then another door that covers just the ashtray directly behind the first door mentioned. The second door is lifted by a spring and always wants to say open when the first door is open. Is this normal or has something broke. It just seems strange to me to have two doors open together, on purpose. Thanks, hope the description is understandable.

I noticed that same thing on my 03 Z06. The only thing I could figure was that the second smaller door was added in case anyboby closed the lid on a lit smoke since it appears to be metallic and the outside door is more like plastic.

GM figured if you opened the first outer lid you most likely want to use the ash tray, so that opens also. But without the second inner lid ashes could be tossed about under there, so that's way it's there.
