That is the simplest way, but only gets the fluid that isin the resrvoir bottle.
You may have to do it several times to get most of the old fluid out... so it is a bit wasteful... but it works
Not sure on a vette. On my old Supra, I took off the return line, took off the cap on th reservoir, then stuck the end of the return line in a bucket. I had my wife start the car and, as soon as nothing comes out of the return line, it's empty, turn it off. Worked like a champ!
I was thinking of doing this also (~40K miles).
If you do it like that above, is there any issue with air getting in the system or is it not a closed system like brake fluid.
Also, which one is the power steering resivior? I know that sounds stupid, but I have never needed to know where it was. Is it the black plastic resivior between the radiator and the front of the engine? I think this is the only cap i have not opened before. I have changed every other fluid there is except power steering and differential.
