Default Spark plugs

Okay, it's been a while and I'm out of touch with the current spark plug gosip and rumors...

I think I need to change my plugs. I've had NGK TR-55 copper plugs on for about 10,000 miles (with a fair amount of racing and a lot of WOT and high RPM street driving). I haven't pulled them to check yet but from the way the car is running (a little lumpy at idle and excessive unburnt fuel smell after WOT and high RPM runs) I think they may be past their prime.

Since I don't race the car anymore, I'm not so hypersensitive to the spark plug I install. I want something reliable that will last so I don't have to mess with it.

I see GM has a new pre-gapped Iridum plug, plus all the usual players (Bosch 4 prong, etc.). Any thoughts on what the best plug is for the street (mild mods)?

Thanks!

Mike

Personally, I have used the Bosch Platinum +4's for years, and the Platinum series plugs on all my Vettes since the nineties, for that matter. However, the NGK TR 55's are a well proven, and, great low cost value spark plug alternative.
