Clear Coat Question

Default Clear Coat Question

I broke down and had my thin spokes reclear coated. The whole wheel was clear coated including the area where the tire and wheel make contact creating a seal, also the area where the sensors make contact to the wheel. Is this going to be a problem? Will the clear coat itself in those areas have to be removed in order to make the correct seal? I think I screwed up?!

No, not at all.. You are talking about thousands of an inch. As long as the stem slides through the hole, you'll be fine.

Thanks Dan I feel better now! Does that apply to the seal on the tire/rim as well?

Absolutely.. Your only concern is if they did a so-so job and left drips in the clear coat, the head of the drip is in a sealing area. If not, no worries.
