I just got a 1999 FRC that has the manual air conditioning controls. When I try to change the blower between floor, floor/forward, and defrost positions, nothing happens. No matter what position that **** is in, the air still blows the same place. Has anyone run into this problem before? Again, this is the manual control A/C.
If the manual ones are the same as mine then check the vaccuum hoses under the battery. Could be corroded.
I had the same problem with my 98. There was a problem with the battery causing it to leak (known issue I think). Mine was the dual zone AC but the vent switch controls didn't work correctly. I took it into the shop for the repair because I had an extended warranty. They told me that it wasn't covered under warranty so I had to pay to replace the metal vaccuum hoses. It's been a long time ago, but I recall it costing me a bit over $500.

I got worked over at the stealership myself for this same problem. That's when I bought a dry cell battery.
