I have a 2003 a4 coupe 4000 miles rear diff is leaking from cover on drivers side. Would just changing to redline possibly stop the leak as i've read. Car is still under warranty for another year and the leak is very minor 1-2 drops occassionally. THANKS FOR ANY INPUT
I don't think he was asking if it would fix GMs poor seal design. I think he was asking if the Redline would cause the seal to swell and stop the leak much like the "cure alls" that they sell on aisle of evil at Pep Boys.
Even if you add something to stop the leak, its very temporary. Much smarter in the long run to fix the seal. Also much cheaper than a new diff if you don't catch the leaking before the oil level gets too low.
From: From San Diego to Bentonville, AR.....WTF was I thinking?!? Oh yeah, that free state thingy!

I've had Redline in my diff. since about a month after buying it two years ago, and I got the leak two months ago. Had dealer fix it and no problems since, but now I have the GM fluids back. Will change to Redline again eventually.
This might sound crazy, but if I were you I would take my vette to go see Steve Spencer at Bryner Chevrolet in Jenkintown, PA (It's 1.5 hours away for you). I live in Virginia and have gone to see Steve twice (for me, it's 2.5 to 3 hours each way, but it's worth it), this last time to have him fix my leaking rear diff. I couldn't be happier!
Also, listen to what other people have to say about him:

I would get this fixed, especially since your car is under warranty. While you may think the leak is only 1-2 drops, you probably don't know how much is leaking while driving and not dripping on the garage floor. Unless you check your diff fluid level regularly, the risk is that you run the fluid low... which is not good.

No it will not fix it and could instead cause it to leak more for when GM designs parts they do so in using a certain oil that works with those parts such as gaskets and O-rings
If the car is still under warranty I suggest when you take car in for warranty repair that the GM fluid is what they find in transaxle
Being the car only has 4,000 miles in 2 - 3 years the leak would be worse if driven daily so you should have the warranty work done now.
