I have a 04 A4 when pulling away from a stop I here a clunk it sounds like it's coming from
the right rear, it doesn't do it all the time I would say about 80% of the time.Anyone know
what it might be?
Thanks
Grease the rear, wheel-side drive splines of the half-shaft. Mine did the same thing and a little grease did the trick. Found the tip here on the forum.

Thanks konish, is there a grease fitting somewhere if not how do you get to it? I got a free
oil change certificate from GM will they grease it when they service the car?

There are no grease fittings....If there is a "clunk" noise, it can be many things>
CV joint
Ball joints
Wheel bearing
Stabilizer bar
