ECL Recall Question (sorry)
I do most humbly apologize for banging this drum again. Hopefully there's a quick answer.I've got a 98 auto and GM says the recall has been done. Steering wheel turns without key in ignition which supports their claim. Not clear if a CLB has been installed -- probably not.
BUT..."Service Column Lock" warning still comes on every time I start the car although it's easily cleared by a Reset. Although I've had the car only a few weeks, it has never stalled for lack of fuel (also confirmed by the previous owner).
Can I just safely ignore this message, or is likely that some day I may stall at over 2 mph?

That was done on August 10th 2004. No problems since.
I had to go to the dealer for a drivers side window repair and don't you just know that the "service colunm lock light came on as the so called mechinic was backing my car out of his service bay. I had to give them another $114.04 to replace the harness and lock plate again because my car would not go over 2 MPH without it.
Just to get a drivers side window repaired it cost me $1,392.80 not counting they messed up my CD changer $200.00 used and now my right side actuator is stuck open.
When I took the car in for the window repair I had "NO CODES" at all on anything.
Now I have Code B0367 H & B 2606 H that will not reset at all. I complained to GM but got the big BS Brushoff.
The $@&^% dealer want $188.00 for a new actuatior and 6 hours of labor @ $86.00 per hour to put it in.
I'm afraid to even try for them to fix it because I do not know what else they will mess up.
