Default turn signal problem

my right turn signal is doing screwy things. when u use it it clicks very very fast, sometimes the green arrow on the IP will flash, others no. the frt doesnt flash. only back. BUT, its not the bulb. it works with my hazards or daytime running lamps which use same filament. i have had problems with that socket in the past due to corrosion so i did go ahead and replace it with a new socket and tried new bulbs just to make sure. it still is messing up. the left one works fine. right one only on rear and flashes very fast. why would it do this? where else do i look??

please, ive covered it already so no "replace the bulb" replies since this is obviously more involved than that.

oh, and every once in a while it will work perfectly then resort to fast flashing/clicking.

Check the ground connection for the light that intermitently work. It might be loose.

I would think as the hazards are working the DRL relay and wiring to lamp must be okay. So the fault must be the turn switch or the wiring from the instrument panel electrical centre A4 to C209 pin F.

If you subscribe to alldata.com/diy you will be able to view all the electical schematics and connector locations.

Not sure if this is happening with your 97 but my Y2K FRC had a similar problem when I first bought it-- Kept blowing right side blubs and sometimes signal didn't work even with new blub-- GM replaced the entire turn signal/hazard assembly (under steering wheel)- luckily I was still under warranty-- Sorry if I ruined your day-- good Luck-- Phil H.

Previous posts suggest the problem is the relay behind the hazard button..... follow this link...
