My back window just popped right off the glue/adhesive just gave out due to me always putting up and down ALL THE TIME. Just needs to be cleaned then glue again, in my opinion. I went to an auto shop and said they couldn't fix it, went to an upholstery shop=can't fix it went to Chevy dealer=can't fix it, called a top shop=can't fix it. Anyone live in or around Torrance, CA know of any place I can go? Help or suggestions from others would be appreciated.
Don't know what year yours is but my 2000 did the same thing. It really was just more from drying out and sun i.e. normal wear. I had to replace the convertible top. I got a great deal from a forum member and took it to a trim shop who put the new one on. Every place I took it said the same thing that it wasn't repairable.
I guess you could just try gluing it again but think new top is your best bet. Good luck.
I have seen a couple posts re. same problem. Guys said they fixed themselves by using silicone sealer as I recall. Tough part is figuring a way to clamp/keep pressure on til it sets up. what year is your car.
You might give "Goop" a try. Read the directions carefully. Goop is a contact cement with some flexibility and thickness. Clean both surfaces as best you can, then apply cement and allow drying time per directions. Press together firmly - no clamping should be necessary. Another set of hands is most helpful.

How about Gorilla Glue? That stuff seems to hold about anything. Also pretty expensive at Ace.
I tried the silicone glue also. It just let go again the other day after about 8 mos. It stuck to the top and the glass but stretched like gum in the middle. This time I used 3M Scotch-Grip. I used duct tape to hold the window tight to the fabric. I put half on the top and half on the glass than used a wallpaler seam roller to get atight fit. Let it sit unlatched for two days to release the tension on the top by the back window. So far so good. I just did it friday. Wish I'd seen the JB stuff as I would have tried that.
Good luck and hope you find a solution.
You apply adhesive to both fabric and glass, let dry a few minutes and then press together. Before using the glue, clean the glass and remove the old bond strip (1" liner) between glass and fabric. .

that happened to my 98' i glued it back with cyanoacylate glue ( used for plastic models) sort of a super superglue !! it bonds instantly and lasts for the past 2 yrs. just put a little strip on the glue strip then attach the glass it will bond instantly. be sure to stretch the top while applying , it will not move once the two parts touch !!!
