Default C5 Wheel Balance Weights

Did your new C5 come from the factory with stick on or crimp on wheel balance weights?
My 04 came with crimp on and I like the stick on type better.

Thanks

Factory uses crimp on weights (coated). Most aftermarket wheels use or require stick-ons. You can use stick-ons on your factory wheels if you like, you just may have a small "blemish" on the rim after removing. HTH

BTW, if switching, make absoulutely sure the surface gets thoroughly cleaned before applying stick-ons.

Thanks for the info. I asked some of the C6 guys and it seems the C6 comes from the factory with stick on balance weights. I was just curious why they changed.

Factory crimps on weights leave ugly marks on the face of the wheel when you put on the repalcement tires. since no two tires are identical it is unlikely that you can leave the factory crimp on weight in it original position. Yes you can try, but often have to add too much wight in other positions to propoerly balance the tire.

The C6 wheels come with stick on weights because the C6 wheels have no lips for the weights. That, wear and appearance are the reason why stick on weights are more popular today.

I ain't never had a stick on weight stay on for any length of time.
Use the crimp on but get the ones that are plastic coated and
tip your tire man so he is careful.
