I AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY WITH NUKE!!
Selectable would be the way. I have done alot of work with Police LED's and if you can do both paterns it would be easy to make them switchable.
Not bad, but what I think would be cool would be a normal flashing turnsignal that was just a small "(" at the edge of the light fixture, with maybe a few rows of non-lit LEDS around it with the rest of the tail light lit for brakes. Sorta like the euro lights, but on the side instead of the bottom.
I'm not big on the sequential stuff. Also, another idea is one that I've seen on some truckers lights. They time the LED's to simulate the on/off of a normal bulb by timing in a glow pattern starting from the center.
Here is my interpretation of your suggestions. Do you prefer these concepts over the originals? (these are not included in the original poll; we are just brainstorming... Feel free to comment.)
how many LEDs would each lens contain? seems like you'd need a bunch to fill them up. have you already got the lenses made and you're just looking at which blinking pattern to use?
i have the 'halo' leds and i love them but i'm always willing to look at different styles.
